Cassie & Phil were referred to me by another planner and I am so grateful she put us in touch! The couple were planning their wedding from their home together in Boston, though the bride is originally from Toronto, and were looking for month-of-coordination with a touch of design and planning consideration support added on.
They wanted something effortlessly elegant to work with the already stunning decor of their venue, one of Toronto's premier wedding spots, and with nods to both their Chinese traditions and the classic romance of a summer wedding. Needless to say, I was instantly on board and excited to bring the final elements of their vision together!
The couples' original palette idea was dusty blue with white and blush with touches of gold. Cassie was also hopeful to add touches of Chinoiserie pottery which was a perfect way to add a cultural element and the added richness of multiple shades of blue, working together to create dynamism and a modern take on the wedding palette.
For flowers, we considered local and seasonal blooms in shades of white, cream, taupe, and blush - yes, even white has shades! - to help keep the floral looking organic and natural. These shades would also really pop against the bridesmaid's dresses, which were chosen to be a mix of traditional and modern as well - the same style but able to be worn in different ways by adjusting the neckline for something a little different without going as far as mismatched.
Since the table settings provided by the venue were already classic and stately, we focused on considering the other elements of the table scape - centrepieces, candle holders, and stationary to bring the personal touches the couple were looking for to the reception space.

Cassie and Phil were lucky to be surrounded by so many creative and supportive people, from not just their vendor squad but their friends and family as well. The custom Chinoiserie and Velum invitation suite was designed by a friend and perfectly set the tone for the wedding day.
Cassie and her family began to source a gorgeous mismatch of Chinoiserie vases to use for the dining table centrepieces, which would be designed by the family's go-to local florist. To surround the centrepieces, the couple purchased stunning cut-crystal votive holders, which we also supplemented with simple clear votives for lots of romantic candlelight, and some colourful candles for the head table.
Other cute touches included a late night gelato and popcorn station, including this vintage inspired cart, provided by the venue, and some large full floral arrangements for the ceremony, placed on pedestals, which we re-purposed for the reception.
When the original pedestal vendor fell through, I was fortunately quickly able to find a replacement through my wide network of rental companies, so the couple didn't need to compromise on their design or stress as I seamless made the switch.

Cassie and Phil's wedding day was the perfect blend of traditional elegance and modern romance, perfect for two cool young doctors and their amazing family and friends. We were welcomed into the family's beautiful home for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and pre-wedding luncheon before setting off to Casa Loma for the big event.
All of the couple's well considered touches came together, thanks to Cassie and Phil's great preparation combined with our structured timeline meetings, expert advice, and constant contact and conversations to make sure every detail was just how they imagined it. From the three beautiful flat lays I got to style, to the simply stunning table top decor, to the adorable inclusion of a cake topper featuring a 3D printout of the characters from UP, we were able to deliver a wedding that was, in Cassie's words: "as romantic and personal as we'd envisioned"
